Here we have a Counting Crows poster which I was stoked to do because 'August and Everything After' is one of my favorite records. I photographed about 30 different houses to make the collage lighthouse. Lots of old people gave me the stink eye for stealing pics of their cribs. This poster is 18x23 inches on our house sheet and is purple, black, gray, translucent golden metallic, and a light blue to dark blue split fountain background. The split fountain is very random on this print so each one is quite different and has a painted and distressed quality to it. We have worked for Cyndi in the past doing some merchandise design so it was a treat to do this poster recently for the True Colors show. My lesbian Ex-girlfriend went and said it was awesome and that Rosie O’Donnel played drums. When I hear Cyndi Lauper, I immediately think of The Goonies, and when I hear Rosie O’Donnel, I think of Dave Chappelle saying “she has dick holes in her underwear”. For this installment, we have the Dream Theater (Progressive Nation Tour 2008) Poster with Opeth, Between the buried and Me, and Three. This poster is special because it is our first photo-to-screenprint-to-flatstock project. Ian took the photograph of the girl in the dress with the armadillo and human skull and Chuck separated it down into 6 index colors and laid the text out. Basilio took the screen to press and put it all down super tight to create this really unique product. It is nice when everyone at the shop gets a hand in the same project. Expect to see more of these types of projects in the future. The poster is on a 19.5 x 25 inch black heavy stock. Image print size is 16×20 inches and is 6 colors. Limited edition of 75 prints.
